Liposinol™ is made with a unique and patented fibre complex mainly from dehydrated cactus leaves.
Liposinol™ has been clinically proven to be effective in reducing dietary fat absorption, subsequently reducing the calories absorbed from fat.
Several pre-clinical (in vitro) studies on the fat binding efficacy of Liposinol™ were conducted at the TNO Nutrition and Food Research (The Netherlands). These studies used TNO's in vitro gastrointestinal model, TIM. The patented and well-validated TIM simulates physiological digestion conditions systems and has been mentioned in over 30 scientific, peer-reviewed publications. Regulatory authorities, including the American Food and Drug Administration (FDA), accept data from TIM systems.
In addition to pre-clinical studies, several human clinical studies were also conducted in France and Germany.
The results from these studies have consistently shown Liposinol's™ efficacy as a fat binder that binds up to 27.4% of dietary fats.
In a clinical study on Metabolic Syndrome, Liposinol™ has proven its fat binding capacity resulting in a significant reduction of LDL− cholesterol. This study was published in the 2007 peer-reviewed journal, Advances in Therapy.
A recent 2-armed, randomised, double blind, placebo-controlled fat elimination study of Liposinol™ conducted in Germany has once again proven Liposinol™ as a superior fat binder, which also resulted in weight loss and increased satiation.
These studies have not only proven Liposinol's™ efficacy, but have also shown us new directions in which to direct our future research on Liposinol™. Liposinol is subject to an extensive on-going study and development programme, as we continue to further explore the many benefits of this great product.
